The PlanEvery so often I realize that I've been spending too much. As a result I take a month (although the first time was 40 days) and 'fast' on spending. It's not easy, but it's quite helpful in many ways. Each time I've done this I have actually made between 50 and 200 dollars. Combine that with the money I didn't spend, and the fact that I reformed my spending, it can have a big impact financially.

Unless otherwise indicated you can't spend any expected income.
NO spending of already existing money in your possession The only exception to this is spare change
NO stockpiling
If you have any bills, you can pay them.
If you have any thing owed to you, you can call it in
You can sell get money by getting rid of things in your home
You can spend money that is refunded to you in that month
Anything that you sell or get refunded must be spent after you get the money back. So if you submit a reimbursement for medical expenses, or sell something online, you can't spend money in anticipation of getting it. If you submit it and you don't get anything sent to you that month... tough noogies. If you find out someone owes you money, you have to wait until they hand it to you.
Gambling is allowed with any eligible money (but I don't recommend that)
You can consume anything that you already have
You can barter
In the end you can potentially.

Day 8: Like a Miyagi-ite
Today I have a few chores to do. I a going to start by finishing mowing the lawn. There's lots of leaves out there so it takes longer. I wanted to buy a sweeper for the mower, but can't this month. The other chore is painting (staining) the fence. Brittany is going to come over and help out. I suppose neither of these are chores really. I love mowing the lawn and painting is great too. Two things that have instant results.
For lunch I made myself a double cheeseburger from things that were in the freezer and fridge. A fly got stuck in the pickle jar water. I felt bad that it was swimming around in there so I pulled it out and put it on the table (outside). I didn't think it would make it but a little while later it was wiggling around and testing out its wings.
I felt a little icky part way through the day. I don't know what to blame it on but my guess is that the frozen burgers didn't agree with me. Dinner was Kraft mac and cheese with leftover pudding for dessert. This my first zero income days. I did get help from Brittany painting the fence. I wonder if that counts. I suppose I will put it up :)
