The Plan

Every so often I realize that I've been spending too much. As a result I take a month (although the first time was 40 days) and 'fast' on spending. It's not easy, but it's quite helpful in many ways. Each time I've done this I have actually made between 50 and 200 dollars. Combine that with the money I didn't spend, and the fact that I reformed my spending, it can have a big impact financially.

Day 28: Hokie might

Saturday was another good day. Anna and I had breakfast at the house and then went off to see 'Fantastic Mr. Fox'. She bought the tickets and I bought the nachos. It was a really good deal on the nachos so we weren't too upset when we realized how crappy they were. At least the movie was good... oh wait, no.. it wasn't. After suffering through the movie we went shopping. I helped Anna find lots of things that she didn't want to buy at the stores nearby. They had great sales, just nothing quite right.

We came back to the house to watch the VT / UVA game which was going well after a slow start. Dinner was out with the family during the last part of the game. They were nice enough to understand when I had txts sent to me during dinner with score updates (we won!). After dinner Anna and I packed up and headed out to our respective road trips. I stopped for gas before getting on the highway and unfortunately didn't have enough money for a full tank. This was going to be tricky.

Anna and I talked for part of the trip which always helps the time go by. Unfortunately my phone battery was dying so I decided to end the call so that I could save it in case of an emergency. Dying phone battery did little to make me feel better about my likely close call on gas getting home. All was well though plus I got to eat my Whatchamacallit. I made it home and was able to get to sleep at a reasonable hour.
