The PlanEvery so often I realize that I've been spending too much. As a result I take a month (although the first time was 40 days) and 'fast' on spending. It's not easy, but it's quite helpful in many ways. Each time I've done this I have actually made between 50 and 200 dollars. Combine that with the money I didn't spend, and the fact that I reformed my spending, it can have a big impact financially.

Unless otherwise indicated you can't spend any expected income.
NO spending of already existing money in your possession The only exception to this is spare change
NO stockpiling
If you have any bills, you can pay them.
If you have any thing owed to you, you can call it in
You can sell get money by getting rid of things in your home
You can spend money that is refunded to you in that month
Anything that you sell or get refunded must be spent after you get the money back. So if you submit a reimbursement for medical expenses, or sell something online, you can't spend money in anticipation of getting it. If you submit it and you don't get anything sent to you that month... tough noogies. If you find out someone owes you money, you have to wait until they hand it to you.
Gambling is allowed with any eligible money (but I don't recommend that)
You can consume anything that you already have
You can barter
In the end you can potentially.

Day 12: Bartering blight
Average day to start, yogurt and cheese. I didn't walk though since I will be going to Roanoke after work. There was $22.36 in the water money fund (I pay that) so I scooped that up. Oh and there was a 5 pence coin (gee thanks). Aaron gave me an apple to try out too. I still have another one on my desk but I think I'll bring it up with me on my car trip this weekend. I sold off my Jawbone cell phone headset. I don't use it anymore because the speaker phone works so well on the phone I have now. The guy was sketch and wanted to trade me a stick of laptop memory for it. I didn't want it but he didn't want to pay the $35 and instead offered me $25 and the memory. Turns out that he swapped the memory out with a cheaper kind that the packaging indicated. I really don't care, especially because the headset hadn't been charged in a long time so I don't even know if it will hold power any longer. I took Aaron and Sam out to Rivermill for birthday lunches which is always good for the belly.
After work I went to Salem to see Starr's new house. I helped out with some painting and ate pizza with her and her friends. Was a good productive night. When I came home I washed the paint off my feet and went to bed. I'm wiped. Oh.. did I mention how excited it is for me to get a guest story on budgetsaresexy.com?
