Extreme NoSpend

Remember how I did NoSpend November last year? Well this year I decided to try it in December. There are a couple of reasons for this shift. First of all I had a vacation planned already for November so I didn't want to skimp on it since vacations for me are so rare. The other reason is that while last November was difficult (primarily because of football season) it wasn't as big a stretch to pull off. Christmas is a big spending time and I found that instead of really saving on holiday spending, it could have been differed. So is it really no spend? Tough call. So in that spirit I modified one rule from 09. No Christmas stockpiling.

No Change November sprung as a result of things being moved to December. I can now compare it to December as well as last November. I also get a chance to see if I am able to track spending when it is happening all the time. Lets see how it all goes! Also of note, I am changing how I list acquired and consumed. If I acquired a cookie and ate it all in the same day, it will only be listed in consumed. Acquired will only be present for things that make it to the end of the day. The exception to this is cashflow.

Day 23: Repaired Auto

I had raspberry yogurt for breakfast. Did you think I wouldn't even though I'm not home? Silly reader. Dad and I went over to an auto glass place where they repaired the chip in my windshield (covered by insurance). The lady at the front desk talked to us about how her husband worked in Blacksburg for a few months. I think I was the first person she had met from there. Is it weird that this is the second chip I've gotten in this windshield? I don't remember getting them before, maybe once. We checked out a thrift store next door too and found some good stuff. Also found out that it's really hard to get a gift certificate to a thrift store, but they do sell them, which was a little odd to me. The afternoon was taken up mostly by fixing up my parents' laptop so that skype would send video. The Logitech rep tried his hardest but didn't get it resolved, but he did send me down the right path to sort it out. So now all is well in the skypey world.

There's been a good steady flow of cookies here. I have the ones that I made, Sarah's cookies, some strawberry rhubarb onces from mom and then some more that Ann brought by just a minute ago (rum balls maybe?). Dinner at home was of course very tasty and was followed by cookies and Christmas present making.
