    Cool it! - 6/17/06

Shortly before I first moved in, the fridge kinda broke. I was excited because I thought I would get a chance to get a new one out of the deal. Sadly, it wasn't really broken. Recently though I have have been saving for a new roof. I managed to save WAY more than I needed, so I started looking for a new fridge. I found one that was a refurbished model. Looked good and was half price. I tossed on the service plan in case there was anything horribly wrong. It arrived while I was out. Jul and Chris were handed some 'parts that fell off'. Joy...
I got the water working for the door and had it all set to go. The door was making a clicking noise, so Chris gave me a hand and we got that set. Now, as far as the missing parts? I dug around in the bowels of the super complicated door and found out where they came from. A spot where the ice dispenser hinges was broken. There was no way to fix it without a new part. I did however learn a lot about how it all works in there. So that was fun.
Because the dispenser flap also holds the cold air in the freezer, I made an effort to patch it up and keep things protected for now. I also removed the lever so that no one will accidentally break it when trying to get ice through the door. All I can do now is wait for the new part to arrive.
